WHAT DO YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT NAPLAN CHANGES IN 2023

Nov 29, 2022

There are new changes to NAPLAN in 2023, meaning the test will be held in Term 1, rather than Term 2.

The National Assessment Program or NAP, has made changes to NAPLAN, making the tests earlier in the year than ever before.

In addition, there will also be more sample tests in an effort to improve support for parents, students and schools.

The test will be held in mid-March, rather than May. The dates of NAPLAN will be from Wednesday 15 March to Monday 27 March, 2023.

In the Educational Ministers Meeting, they agreed that "Bringing the test forward puts information in teachers' hands sooner, allowing for more targeted support for students to ensure they are gaining more important skills."

While this may seem like a relief to educators, we know that up to four weeks at the begining of the year are lost trying to relearn what was taught in the previous year.

This complex is often called, 'the summer slide'.

Combat the summer slide this year by taking advatage of Mathnasium Learning Centres and their customised learning plans held over the summer break and into Term 1.

Set your child up for success this year and contact your local centre.
